Come away,
O human child:
To the waters and the wild with a fairy,
hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping
than you can understand.
Colorado weeps again

Such a tragedy…
It truly was, Michelle.
My heart is aching over this tragedy Stacia. I hope you weren’t in any way directly affected by this horrible event.

My friends and family were untouched. I feel horrible for those that were. Thanks B.
How is it that one act of senseless violence and evil seems to negate a hundred acts of goodness and right? Something is deeply wrong with our society.
I think after I posted this I could say no more. Now, a little later, I would echo what you say and will try, in some small way, to remember and recognize more of the goodness and right. Thank you for reminding me to do that
There are events that make you understand what the word “heartsick” means. This is one of them. I pray for your area, the people, and community.
Thank you k8edid. Even with the time that has passed, it is still heavy on my heart.
For the world’s more full of weeping
than you can understand.
Unfortunately, millions of children world wide understand this quite well. In Miami for one example kids know what “drive by” means by first grade.
Very, very sad to hear that Carl.
Do you know what I dread on top of the sadness and shock we all feel? I dread the day we have to explain such things to our grandchildren. How do we explain the unexplainable? Thank you for the beautiful picture and poem.
Truly unexplainable. Senseless. Mad.
I will never get my head around these acts, whether in Colorado or Rwanda or Syria … whether centuries ago during the Crusades or decades ago in Germany… They are all acts of insanity. Our hearts break each time…
Too many heartbreaks it seems. Thank you.
Balm for the heart – thank you.
Thank you, Laurie.
A perfect post for such a tragic day.
A belated thank you, Dianna.
I am not surprised these gentle words and beautiful picture are shared with us by you. Thank you.
The families, friends, everyone, and anyone connected to the tragedy in Aurora are in my thoughts and prayers. I’m also reminded of those that deal with tragedy in not so ‘newsworthy’ ways.
I was speechless at the time but those words and that picture seemed to speak for me. Thank you.
Such a senseless tragedy. Thank you for your beautiful words, Bella.
Thank you Elyse. I thought that poem said it best
Thank you. There a just no me words.
Thank you Barb. That was my last post until today. I have been wrapped in silence but gently making my way back. Look forward to catching up with your posts.
A world turned upside down. We do indeed weep, for Colorado and all humanity.
It still weighs heavy here, Al. Thank you.
We share in the hurt for all those affected by the tragedy and those in the community who though perhaps not directly affected through family and friends, nevertheless feel the horror and the sadness.
Thank you Judith. I am remiss in my response but this was my last post until today. I missed you and hope to catch up with your posts soon.
It’s hard enough to deal with loss of life when there’s an earthquake, a wildfire, a tornado. But this. What happened the other night was the result of someone’s decision. It’s incomprehensible.
Thank you for this post, Bella. It’s a beautiful response to a hideous event.
Thank you BronxBoy. The poem seemed to say what I was feeling but couldn’t say. It’s taken me so long to respond because I still can’t comprehend it.
It’s not just Colorado’s tragedy, Bella. It touches all of us because it can happen anywhere at any time. The depth of depravity boggles the mind.
You are right ComingEast, it is a tragedy shared by all. So sad.
Colorado has had more than her share of tragedy this year. Our hearts and hugs go out to all who are suffering.
Thank you for that Patti
Oh, the sadness comes through for all the broken hearts and bodies, for all the pain of senseless loss.
Such deep sadness. Thank you.
Great words in reply to such a tragic event!
Thank you, Arindam.
Beautifully expressed. We all weep with you.
It touched us all, didn’t it? Thank you, writingfeemail.
I love Yeats. His words are still so very relevant. It was a terrible tragedy.
